For forty years he's been an avid woodworker and stained glass artist. He's taught both of these crafts for many years and is a member of the National Woodcarving Association and the California Carving Guild, as well as local woodworking clubs.

Don's work has won many awards, including two Best of Shows and several blue ribbons. His work has been displayed in exhibitions, galleries and fine craft stores in Northern California and is currently in private collections throughout the United States.

Artist's Statement:

I want to incorporate the natural elements of the wood...grain, figure, coloring and texture into the design and flow of the project. These features add interest, uniqueness and excitement to the fished project. My work shows a feeling for design and balance, coupled with fine lines and attention to detail. Fine woodworking should produce an emotional response and a desire to touch and feel.
